A Food that Causes Inflammation

white bread inflammation

The typical American diet is very PRO-inflammatory.  That means the food we eat tends to encourage inflammation instead of discourage it.  This isn’t good.  Especially if you are trying to be healthy and avoid chronic pain.

2 Things Everyone should do.

In order to really get a handle on the inflammation thing, everyone needs to do at least 2 things.  Decrease your pro-inflammatory foods.  Increase your anti-inflammatory foods.  Simple right?

Now there’s a pretty long list of things you should avoid but the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.  So in the interest of simplicity, we will only focus on one thing today: White Bread.

Have to Start Somewhere

I’m 100% sure this little quick tip will seem trivial to the nutritionally elite, but the reality is people still eat white bread.  Lots of people.  And I get it.  I really do.  When I was a kid, that’s all I ate when I had sandwiches.  I didn’t even know they made a different type of bread.  And most people think that white bread tastes better.  But the point is this.  It’s not good for you.  There are better options out there.  And if you are having trouble with pain or any inflammatory issues, it’s a simple place to start.

Promise Yourself…

So let’s do it.  Go stand in front of the mirror.  Raise your right hand.  Repeat these words: “I will no longer eat white bread because I only have one body and it deserves better.”  AAAHHHH…see…that wasn’t so hard.  And you are one step closer to health.  Congrats!
